Cruelty: The constant, devastating feature of the Trump administration.

Trump's Republican Party has spent four years destroying our federal agencies from within. It will take years to repair to repair the damage.

As the first coronavirus vaccines arrive in the coming year, government researchers will face a monumental challenge: monitoring the health of hundreds of millions of Americans to ensure the vaccines don’t cause harm.

The Trump Administration’s cruel rule to take food assistance away from hundreds of thousands of Americans was scheduled to go into effect on April 1, 2020.  A court injunction in late March halted it temporarily as reported by Smart Dissent here. 

Now in mid-October 2020, a Federal judge just blocked the effort entirely, calling it “arbitrary and capricious.”

$300,000,000 of OUR tax dollars have been stolen from the Center for Disease Control in the midst of a horrific pandemic to aid Trump's reelection.

The health department is moving quickly on a highly unusual advertising campaign to "defeat despair" about the coronavirus, a $300 million-plus effort that was shaped by a political appointee close to Trump and executed in part by close allies of the official, using taxpayer funds.

The Pentagon stole $1 billion dollars from COVID-19 response to fund their favorite defense contractors on various projects at a time when the Department of Defense already has an all-time record high budget.

A $1 billion fund Congress gave the Pentagon in March to build up the country’s supplies of medical equipment has instead been mostly funneled to defense contractors and used to make things such as jet engine parts, body armor and dress uniforms.

We wrote about swamp monster Pete Marocco back in July 2020 linked here.  We told you to Be Smart about him.  We wrote that Marocco previously held positions at the departments of Defense, State and Commerce under Trump and was moved to U.S.A.I.D., which manages roughly $20 billion in foreign aid each year.  Well.....

This is sickening—and reflective of the worst moments in our nation’s history.  Forced sterilization is a cruel tool of white supremacy with a long, abominable history in this country.

The USPS had a plan to send 5 reusable facemasks to every household in early April. Even had a press release ready.  The White House blocked the plan.

Trump's Health and Human Science Department is censoring our CDC for unflattering SCIENCE. 

The CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports (MMWR) are the most holy epidemiology texts.  Because it is published by the CDC, the Trump administration thinks it should be able to censor international researchers who publish there to promote its political agenda.

As Trump continues to ignore the COVID-19 global pandemic, the rest of the world is taking action.

The Trump administration said it will not join a global effort to develop, manufacture and equitably distribute a coronavirus vaccine.... a decision that could shape the course of the pandemic....
