Federal authorities have arrested 170 immigrants who came forward seeking to sponsor migrant children in government custody.... They were the result of background checks conducted on potential sponsors of unaccompanied migrant children placed under the care of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Some good news to add to our database. Another judge has stopped Trump and Republicans from illegal actions they continue to take.
A federal judge in New York ruled Friday [11/30/18] that the Trump administration cannot withhold public safety grants to six states and the City of New York based on the fact that they’re so-called sanctuary cities. The Justice Department attempted to put immigration-related conditions on the grants, which total in the millions.
Actions have consequences and the Republican leadership's xenophobic immigration policy is stopping the best and the brightest from coming to America. Historically, students have come from across the globe to study at our universities and then contribute to our society, growing our economy and strengthening our nation'a future. Not anymore.
Stephen Miller and other despicable, xenophobic power-wielding puppeteers of the Trump administration proudly continue to find any way possible to harm immigrants via tear gas, not processing asylum requests, and STILL separating families despite it being ruled illegal by a federal judge.

The Kennel: What Happens Before the Detention Facility

Over the course of 12 months, the U.S. Army discharged more than 500 immigrant enlistees who were recruited across the globe for their language or medical skills and promised a fast track to citizenship in exchange for their service. The Army began booting out enlistees last year without explanation.
The Trump Administration was told that separating children from their parents causes significant and lasting harm — they want to do it again anyways.
Trump's posse figured out early on that their evil, xenophobic efforts to remove certain people from this country would need to take less obvious routes as The Resistance came after their initial attempts. Unfortunately, we continue to learn of new ways they are accomplishing this evil without the involvement of Congress or the light of day.
For nearly two years, the Trump administration has been taking every steps possible limit immigrants from coming to our country LEGALLY. That has been lost in the many awful headlines about a border wall, ICE deportations, Muslim ban, families separations, and so on.
The Trump administration is proposing a new regulation that would make it extremely difficult for many immigrants to come to the US or receive green cards if they’re deemed likely to use public benefits like food stamps or Medicaid.
Republicans' fabricated war on "illegal" immigration is a proxy for their broader mission to eliminate as much immigration as possible, specifically the legal types. Under our Immigration page you will find numerous examples of this, the most heinous of which relates to our refugee program which used to admit 100,000+ a year and should have been double or tripled but instead is being effectively eliminated.
