GOP Led House Committee Votes Down Request to See President's Tax Returns
Based on a little-known law, any committee that creates tax policy can request any specific person's tax filings from the IRS. Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett (TX-35) led efforts to get the House Ways and Means Committee to make this request for President Trump's tax returns.
By a vote of 23-15, Republicans just voted to not request President Trump's tax returns from the Treasury Department.

These efforts failed with a 23-15 party-line vote. Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (TX-8) accused Democrats of attempting to use his committee to go after political opponents.
ACTION: Call Kevin Brady (202.225.4901) or the House Ways and Means Committee (202.225.3625) and tell them that making the President's tax returns public is not a matter of partisanship, but a matter of understanding his conflicts of interest and preventing naked corruption. If your representative is a member of this committee (list here), call their local office and convey the same message.
