Scott Pruitt has called for the dissolution of much of the EPA, yet now runs the Environmental Protection Agency.  He is a seasoned legal opponent of the agency and is incredibly effective tool for Trump and Republican efforts to dismantle regulations on climate change and clean water and "get rid" of the agency.  Pruitt and the White House are waging a war against science, safety, and common sense in order to benefit their favored corporate interests.

US District Judge Nelva Ramos granted "an injunction that bars state officials from enforcing" the recent changes to the state's 2011 voter ID law.

Despite arguments to the contrary from the Trump / Sessions Department of Justice, Judge Ramos cited the Voting Rights Act to rule...

....that the law was enacted with the deliberate intent to discriminate against black and Hispanic voters.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton plans to appeal the decision on the basis of revisions to the law the state legislature passed over the summer.

In early May 2017, Director John Thompson of the U.S. Census Bureau abruptly resgined after Congress refused to provide adequate funding for the upcoming 2020 census.

An administration uninterested in staffing federal agencies, at war with facts and eager to help Congress cut the budget is further endangering a cornerstone of American democracy: the duty to count all who live here.

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) is working to proactively improve our nation at a time when most of our energy is spent combating Trump and Republicans to prevent the next awful thing they want to implement. Booker has introduced a bill to legalize marijuana in the U.S. and combat the racial injustices surrounding it at a time when embattled Attorney General Jeff Sessions and fellow Republicans are attempting to reverse state legalization.

While almost immediately under investigration upon taking office, Trump and team have sought to quickly inflict as much pain as possible upon our nation with varying levels of success.  Our Resistance will play a significant role in how far they get in their agenda.  After failing to take away healthcare from millions of Americans, the Bannon-led White House has turned back to his dream agenda: white supremacy.

 The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been the target of Republican leaders and their base since its passage.  With full control Congress and the White House, they now hold the power to make changes. They are certain of their desire to remove the funding mechanism for ACA -- a tax on the wealthiest citizens -- everything else be damed including millions of citizens who will not be able to obtain or afford coverage.

The Trump administration is removing Endangered Species Act protections for Yellowstone grizzly bears, after more than 42 years on the endangered species list.

The Interior Department’s Fish and Wildlife Service announced the delisting decision Thursday, which immediately drew rebukes... “We have to wait 60 days, but on the 61st day we will sue to stop the delisting,” said Matt Bishop, of the Western Environmental Law Center, a Montana-based nonprofit that intervenes on behalf of conservation groups, referring to the waiting period for filing a lawsuit.

In late June, Trump nominated another dangerous individual to lead an important government position charged with protecting and defending a segment of the U.S. population.  Eric Dreiband has been nominated to lead the Department of Justice's Civil Rights division.  Dreiband has represented corporations defending themselves against civil rights and employment discrimination accusations.  He is the exact opposite of the person that should be leading the Civil Rights division which handles voting rights, policing and discrimination cases among other things.

The current administration and its appointees including Scott Pruitt to lead (i.e. dismantle) the EPA are doing unspeakable damage to our planet and its future viability.  They act with zero regard for the environment and long term health of the globe and its billions of current and future inhabitants ALL for the immediate benefits of corporate interests.
