Dictators stay in power by not allowing a vote for their position at all or staging an "election" that is controlled in a manner that pre-determines the results.  In the United States, something so brazen seems unimaginable.  Wake up.  We need to view the executive order to eliminate non-existent voter fraud as directly from a dictator playbook, supported not just by Trump, but by a Republican Party determined to hold onto power at all costs.

While everyone was rightfully focused on the firing of the FBI director, Director John Thompson of the U.S. Census Bureau abruptly resgined after Congress refused to provide adequate funding for the upcoming 2020 census.

A federal court in Texas has again ruled the state’s 2011 voter identification law intentionally discriminated against minorities. 

Judge Nelva Ramos Gonzales ruled that the law “was passed, at least in part, with a discriminatory intent in violation of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.”

Texas claimed the law was necessary to combat in-person voter fraud, however Judge Ramos reminded the State what ought to be well known by now - there is no evidence of such fraud.

Attorney General Sessions is withdrawing the Department of Justice's view that Texas' voter ID law is discriminatory just ahead of an important hearing in a federal case challenging the Texas law. The Justice Department has held the position for 6 years that Texas' voter ID law discriminates against both black and Hispanic voters.

Plaintiffs tell me DOJ plans to withdraw its position that Texas' ID law is intentionally discriminatory. /1

The House Administration Committee, chaired by Republican Gregg Harper, (MS-3), voted today to eliminate 2 measures intended to ensure accuracy and fairness in our elections at a time when the President howls about voter fraud. Opponents of the measure argued that the Election Assistance Commission "plays a vital role in protecting elections from hacking and other types of interference." It is unclear whether this bill will reach the House floor, but the action is yet another example of Republican efforts to undermine the democratic process.
