Supporting U.S. businesses and American-made products is usually a well-meaning and reasonable thing to do.
Trump is preparing an executive order to require all U.S. food aid to foreign nations be shipped on American ships, Reuters reported [in late June].
There are cases when it's not feasible as there aren't American products or services available.
Although many across the globe believe this lapse in United States global leadership on economic and social issues will pass, the world isn't sitting still while Trump and Republican leadership embarrass and set us back. In fact, many are reacting to Trump by accelerating their efforts to collaborate with other nations to improve their futures.
The White House is changing the purpose of the “Countering Extremism Program” which is a Department of Homeland Security program dedicated to combating ALL types of extremist ideologies. The DHS announced changes to the $10 million grant program that will take money away from groups that work to combat domestic-based extremism (neo-Nazi / KKK), diverting those funds solely to fighting Islamist extremism-related groups.
Television, print media, and the American public are not properly focused on the impact this administration is having on our standing in the world. This is due to an endless series of destructive executive orders, tweets with false accusations, attempted bans of Muslims, dismantling of healthcare, a terrible Supreme Court lifetime appointment..... and so much more.

As expected, the White House reinstated the “Mexico City policy” which blocks federal funding for charities that provide abortion services. But Trump was not satisfied with just following in the footsteps of President Reagan, who first imposed this policy, or Presidents George H.W. Bush and Georgia W. Bush, who also enforced it during their time in office. Instead he made it even worse:
The current administration and its appointees including Scott Pruitt to lead (i.e. dismantle) the EPA are doing unspeakable damage to our planet and its future viability. They act with zero regard for the environment and long term health of the globe and its billions of current and future inhabitants ALL for the immediate benefits of corporate interests.
