In March 2018, Trump signed the Omnibus Spending Bill, explained succinctly by Smart Dissent HERE.  He admittedly had no idea what was in it.  It included funding for a lot of crucial programs, many of which Republicans would like to savagely cut or end.

Now Trump's people have put their (empty) heads together and asked Congress to pull back some of the funding within that $1.3 trillion spending bill.

The Trump administration is considering restrictions on students and researchers from China over concerns that they could be sharing American technology and trade secrets with the Chinese.  They would bar Chinese citizens from engaging in research at American universities and research institutions.

Trump's swamp is full of appointees we will never hear anything about who are doing awful things everyday to harm our nation, our world, and our future.  They do so on behalf of an evil ideology fed by money received from corporate interests.  Sometimes figuring this out is not difficult - they actually publicly brag about what they're doing!

The GOP and White House continue to target Planned Parenthood in any way possible.  They continuing to demonstrate a mind-numbing lack of understanding about the mission of and services provided by Planned Parenthood.

The bulk of federal money Planned Parenthood receives, though, goes toward preventive health care, birth control, pregnancy tests and other women's health services. Federal law prohibits taxpayer dollars from funding abortions and Planned Parenthood says 3% of the services it provides are abortions.

Ajit Pai, the FCC Chairman who is owned by the telecom and cable industry, is pushing closer to grant their wishes.  Named by Trump in January 2017, Pai has been working every day since then to repeal rules that classify internet service as a utility. Under the Pai plan, high-speed internet service will no longer be treated like a public utility with strict rules, as it is now. Instead, he said, the industry "should largely be left to police itself.”

Democrats in the Senate are fighting back and have a shot to win.
