The Trump administration has eliminated the White House’s top cyber policy role, jettisoning a key position created during the Obama presidency to harmonize the government's overall approach to cybersecurity policy and digital warfare.

Clinics that provide abortions or refer patients to places that do would lose federal funding under a new Trump administration rule that takes direct aim at Planned Parenthood....

Government exists to protect its citizens and improve their lives.  It does not exist to serve corporations, unless of course, Republicans are in power.

The House on Tuesday [May 8th] passed a measure to roll back guidance on auto lending issued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  The guidance, issued in 2013, was intended to limit discriminatory practices in the auto loan business.

The civil war and destruction of Syria has been going on since 2011.  As of April 2018, nearly 6 million Syrians have fled the country.  The destruction is so widespread and society in such ruins that there's no reliable count of lives lost but estimates in 2016 were that 400,000 lives were lost, let alone how many thousands more during the past two years.

....the Trump administration is considering changes that might make federal work less rewarding, including a $143.5 billion cut in federal retirement benefits that would affect current and future retirees.

....the administration wants to freeze salaries next year, and is considering a broader overhaul of civil service laws, all of which has public-employee groups nervous.
