Trump appointed Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency. Pruitt's has worked every day since then to destroy the EPA and he is unfortunately one of the most capable people Trump has put into a position of power. Pruitt is appointing people throughout the EPA to undermine the agency with a crystal clear belief that environmental regulations that protect our people and our world should never impede upon the profits of private corporations and their right to make as much money as possible.

Last week, Trump named Jerome Powell to be the next chair of the Federal Reserve.
If confirmed by the Senate, Powell, 64, will succeed Janet Yellen — the first woman to head the Fed — whose term expires in February. Powell, a current member of the Fed's board of governors, is expected to pursue policies largely in line with the gradual interest rate hikes of the Yellen-led Fed.

On August 25, 2017, Trump signed an Executive Order reinstating a ban on transgender individuals from serving in the military. It reinstated a prohibition of transgender service members lifted last year and gave Defense Secretary Jim Mattis until Feb. 21, 2018, to submit a plan for implementing the new policy.
Fortunately, a federal judge temporarily blocked the ban last Monday.

On October 12th, the Trump White House announced the U.S. would withdraw from UNESCO, the United Nations cultural organization. Due to the sheer volume of terrible things Trump's people are doing every day, this action didn't even make it through the day before moving out of the news cycle. So let's briefly address what UNESCO is and then why withdrawal by the U.S. is noteworthy.
