EPA Removes Climate Science Website After Two Decades

The current head of the Environmental PROTECTION Agency Scott Pruitt wishes the EPA did not exist and does not believe climate change is real. Amist your fury, if you're still able to read more you'll be incensed to learn that because of Pruitt's beliefs (to put corporate interest over our globe and people), the EPA web site has been scrubbed of scientific information related to our planet and its climate.

The EPA’s extensive climate change website now redirects to a page that says “this page is being updated” and that “we are currently updating our website to reflect EPA’s priorities under the leadership of President Trump and Administrator Pruitt.”

The opinions of individuals who are supposed to work for us and protect us will now be represented on the official EPA web site over long proven scientific fact.

“As EPA renews its commitment to human health and clean air, land, and water, our website needs to reflect the views of the leadership of the agency,” J.P. Freire, the agency’s associate administrator for public affairs, said in a statement.

“The EPA’s climate site includes important summaries of climate science and indicators that clearly and unmistakably explain and document the impacts we are having on our planet,” said Katharine Hayhoe, a climate scientist at Texas Tech University, in response to the website change. “It’s hard to understand why facts require revision,” she continued

The purpose of the site and it's function not being linked to the opinions of ill-equipped 'leadership' is relevant to understand.

The site has long served an informational role and sought to provide a comprehensive review of basic climate science, the effects of climate change, and how it is affecting the United States. In addition it contained information about the agency’s approach to climate change and how people could take steps to lower their own contributions to climate change.

ACTION: Organizations such as the Natural Resources Defense Coucil350.org, the Sierra Club will be fighting hard against this administration.  Read up on their work at their web sites, follow them on Twitter, and give a donation to them or similar groups.  We need environmental groups to be well funded to fight this fight.  Their web sites have concrete ways you can get involved beyond giving them money if this fighting for this cause drives you.
